The first two days were interesting. The instructor, Eric Conrad, has done an excellent job tailoring the class to both newcomers and experienced pen testers alike. Also, he has a lot of interesting stories. If you are looking at taking a SANS course, he would be a good instructor to take it with.

SFO: SANS First Impressions
Today is the day before I start SEC-542 at the Healthcare Cyber Security Summit in San Francisco, CA! There are quite a few older people here, probably for the Healthcare portion (which started yesterday).
SFO: Snacktime!: Bob’s Donut & Pastry Shop
After some much needed sushi, I wandered. My face lit up when I saw the donut-filled windows of Bob’s Donut & Pastry Shop.
As basic as they come, Bob’s has no website, wifi, or specialty drinks. But for what Bob’s lacks in sparkle and pizzazz, it makes up for with delicious donuts.

SFO: Meal: Nara Sushi
Growing up on the coast, I have a certain ‘engrained’ liking for seafood. Since moving inland, I have been deprived of it. This made my first dinner an easy choice.
Nara Sushi is a small but welcoming Japanese restaurant on Polk St. Open late and great service. I was alone this meal so I sat at the bar which had the added benefit of placing my order direct with the chef.
